In the town gardens next to the beach, you can take a flight on the Bournemouth Eye (see picture), where you where you'll experience amazing panoramic views over the English Channel and surrounding countryside, for up to 20 miles (35 km). As a traditional victorian beach resort, Bournemouth boasts 2 piers. The main pier features a theater, bar and restaurant as well as a small children fun fair. Next to the pier you will find the Bournemouth Oceanarium, a great attraction to keep the kids busy on a rainy day. If you are more of a culture fan, the Russell Cotes Art Gallery and Museum has a vast collection of artifacts and paintings. The building by itself, one of the last Victorian villas in Bournemouth located on the dramatic cliff top with stunning sea view, is worth a visit. Admission is FREE. Bournemouth offers a wide range of shops, over a compact, car-free area with abundance of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants to make the shopping experience complete. Further away from town, the Castlepoint shopping center is home to a large range of shops, department stores and retail outlets In the evening, the town comes alive with bars, nightclubs, restaurants and concerts, and the destination has become a great destination for clubbers as well as stag/hen parties. |
